No one likes to think about the possibility that one day something might happen to your car. At 123.ie we have a low excess of just €300. This helps customers not have to pay substantial amounts in the event that they need to make a claim.
What is an excess?
The excess is the first amount of any claim that you have to pay yourself. If there is a claim on your policy the payment that the insurance company makes will have the policy excess deducted.
Your no claims discount may also be affected if you choose to make a claim. You can find full details of how a claim will affect your no claims discount here.
There may be an additional premium applied at your renewal depending on claims history.
What is the excess on my Car Insurance policy?
At 123.ie the excess is €300 for our Comprehensive and Third Party, Fire & Theft policies.
You can check what your excess is on your insurance schedule in the policy details section here.
Note: There is no excess on windscreen or Keycare claims.
Can I increase my excess to make my policy cheaper?
At 123.ie we have a standard excess of €300 on our Car Insurance policies. We do not allow customers to make changes to the excess to bring the policy price up or down. We do this so that everyone gets the best possible price at new business and renewal stage. At 123.ie we are proud to have one of the best policies on the market with more benefits included as standard.
Should I make a claim?
There are a number of factors to consider when making a claim:
- Making a claim will likely affect your no claims bonus. Consider what your no claims bonus will be at your renewal time compared to the cost of your repairs.
- The excess amount on our Car Insurance policies is €300 so consider this amount compared to the cost of your repairs.
