What is Home Rescue?

At 123.ie, Our Home Rescue service provides round-the-clock assistance for a variety of home emergencies, ensuring that your home remains safe and secure. Covered incidents include plumbing, electrical supply, security issues, roof damage, and heating system failures. Exclusions apply for certain recurring issues, deliberate damage, and some older systems and appliances. Each claim is handled by our approved contractors, with emergency repair costs covered up to specified limits. You can make up to three claims per year, ensuring peace of mind whenever you face unexpected home issues.

What incidents does Home Rescue cover?

At 123.ie, our Home Rescue service covers a range of emergencies, including:

  • Plumbing and Drainage: Sudden or unexpected failure of the plumbing system, including leaks, blockages, and water damage.
  • Electrical Supply: Sudden failure or breakdown of the electrical supply within your home.
  • Security and Glazing: Damage to external locks, doors, or windows that compromise your home's security.
  • Roof Damage: Damage caused by storms or fallen trees and branches.
  • Primary Heating System: Complete failure or breakdown of your primary heating or hot water supply system.

Please note, we do not carry out full repairs. We provide an emergency repair service to secure the home and prevent further damage or loss. 

What is excluded from Home Rescue?

Certain situations and items are excluded from Home Rescue coverage, including:

  • Recurring issues that haven't been permanently fixed.
  • Damage from deliberate or avoidable actions.
  • External water supplies and certain domestic appliances.
  • Issues like replacement of light bulbs, and some types of mechanical equipment.
  • Boilers over 15 years old or those not maintained according to manufacturer instructions.

How do I make a claim?

Making a claim is simple and straightforward:

  • Contact Us: Call our 24-hour helpline to report your emergency: 091 545 970
  • Assessment: We will arrange for an approved contractor to assess and carry out emergency repairs necessary to make your home safe and secure.
  • Repair: Our contractor will perform temporary repairs to address the emergency. If further work is needed, this will be arranged separately.

Who performs the repairs?

All repairs are carried out by our network of approved contractors. These trades people are pre-authorized by us to ensure they meet our high standards of service and professionalism.

What are the costs involved?

We cover emergency repairs up to a maximum of €200 (+ VAT) per emergency assistance, and up to €250 (+ VAT) for glazing repairs. If the cost exceeds this amount, you will be responsible for the difference. Note that there is a limit of three emergency assistances per period of insurance.

What is the process for larger repairs?

Our service covers only the emergency repairs required to make your home safe. Any further repairs needed beyond this will not be covered under the Home Rescue service and should be arranged independently.

Does Home Rescue cover boiler breakdowns?

Yes, we cover the complete failure or breakdown of your primary heating system, provided it is not over 15 years old and has been properly maintained. However, we do not cover repairs where parts are obsolete or unobtainable.

Is there a limit to the number of emergency assistances I can use?

Yes, the policy covers up to three emergency assistances per period of insurance. After the third assistance, any further emergency help will be at your own cost.

Will using the Home Rescue Benefit affect my no claims bonus? 

No, using the Home Rescue service will not affect your no claims bonus.
