123.ie delighted to offer Irish Remote Interpreting Service

123.ie are delighted to offer our customers the opportunity to access the Irish Remote Interpreting Service (IRIS). IRIS allows a deaf person to use a remote sign language interpreter to speak to one of our 123.ie insurance agents.

This service allows 123.ie to provide insurance quotes to the deaf community across all our insurance products, Car, Home, Travel, Health & Life. It also allows us to support members of the deaf community who may have queries around their current insurance policies.

Sarah Gallagher, Head of Customer Experience said: “We are delighted to make this video remote interpreting service available to anyone in the deaf community who is looking to talk to our people about their insurance needs . We know that there can be difficulties experienced by the deaf community in accessing support and information from insurers and we are focused on making insurance accessible for everyone”.

Members of the deaf community who wish to access the service should complete this online form below and let us know some information about your query and when you would be available for a call with the Irish Remote Interpreting Service (IRIS). We will coordinate the call with them for you. This service is available Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm.

IRIS is operated by the Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) and is funded and supported by the Citizens Information Board.  IRIS provides a live video link to an Irish Sign Language interpreter using Zoom. The interpreter is based in the SLIS center and interprets using a computer with internet access and a webcam.
