Make An Inventory

This is a really useful thing to do because you never know what’s around the corner and it's important you have chosen the appropriate contents sum insured for your home. It can be difficult to remember all of your contents of your home especially your valuables if you have just suffered a significant fire or flood.

One of the easiest ways of cataloguing everything is to simply take an inventory of the items for each room in your home and add up how much it would cost to replace them. Photos of valuables can also be useful as these will help to jog your memory about all things so easily forgotten about.

Don't forget, a lot of items in your garage or shed are also covered by your contents policy so conduct the inventory there too. Take care of those photos of valuable items and, if possible, store a copy outside of your home with a friend or relative to protect them from a fire or a flood.
