Car Insurance - My Policy Documents
How do I prove my No Claims Bonus?
To prove your No Claims Bonus (NCB), you need an official No Claims Bonus Certificate from your current or previous insurer. This document confirms the number of claim-free years on a policy in your own name.
Your previous insurer may have included this in your renewal pack. If not, you must request a copy. The NCB must be from a private car policy in Ireland or the UK and earned within the last two years.
Submit your NCB to 123.ie via:
- Online upload – My123 Portal
- Email – motor@123.ie
- Post – 123.ie, RSA House, Dundrum, Dublin 16
Failure to provide proof may result in policy cancellation. For more details, visit How can I prove my No Claims Bonus?.
How do I get a copy of my No Claims Bonus?
To get a copy of your No Claims Bonus (NCB) from 123.ie, check your renewal offer pack, which includes your NCB and is accessible through your online portal. If your policy was canceled mid-term, provided there are no outstanding balances, an NCB would have been issued to you.
For further details, see How do I get proof of my No Claims Bonus?.
Why does my letter say RSA Insurance and not 123.ie?
How do I prove my Named Driving Experience?
To verify your named driving experience, you’ll need to request a letter of driving experience from each insurer where you were a named driver. This document isn’t automatically provided, so be sure to request it directly.
Your experience must:
- Be consecutive (no gaps in coverage).
- Have been earned within the last three months.
- Have been gained in Ireland or the UK.
- Apply to a private car policy.
Submit your documentation through the My123 Portal or email it to motor@123.ie. For a step-by-step guide, visit our detailed help page: How do I prove my Named Driving Experience?.

Do additional drivers earn a no claims discount on my policy?

How do I find my policy number?
Your 123.ie policy number is clearly shown at the top of your insurance disc, your certificate of insurance, and on letters or emails we've sent you. Car policies start with XM (standard) or XT (telematics). Home policies begin with XH.

I don’t understand my no claims bonus document
Your No Claims Bonus (NCB) document for Car Insurance has four key sections:
-
Number of years claims free - Shows the total years you’ve driven without making a claim, up to a maximum of six years. This may not always match your actual no-claims discount.
-
No claims bonus discount - Displays the percentage discount applied to your policy. This can differ from your claims-free years, especially if your NCB was protected or an incident didn’t impact your discount.
-
No claims discount scale applicable to policy - Outlines the percentage discount for each point on the scale from 1 to 6.
-
List of claims against the policy since inception - A record of all claims or notifications reported under your policy.
For a detailed breakdown of each section, please refer to How do I understand my No Claims Bonus document?
