Can I make amendments to the policy if I am not the policyholder?

Sometimes you need a bit of help managing your cover—and we’re set up to make that possible, safely and securely.

Who can make changes to a policy

By default, the only person who can make changes to a policy is the policyholder.

This individual can speak with us and request updates without any extra paperwork.

How to authorise someone else to make changes to a policy

If you’d like a friend, family member or spouse to be able to manage your policy, you’ll need to give written permission. This is done by filling out a Third Party Nomination Form. Please note that the third party you are nominating must be over 18 years old.

Steps to nominate a third party

  1. Call our Customer Care team to request the Third Party Nomination Form.
  2. Fill out the form with your details and the person you’re authorising.
  3. Post the completed form to:

123.ie
RSA House, Dundrum Town Centre
Sandyford Road, Dundrum
Dublin 16

Once we’ve processed it, the person you nominate can discuss your policy and make the changes you’ve allowed.

What are the types of access you can give

There are 2 main types of access you can give:

  • Limited Access

Limited Access lets the person discuss your policy and request information, but not make any changes to the policy. You can set this up over the phone by speaking to our team, in writing, or by filling out a Third Party Nomination Form.

  • Full Access

Full Access lets the person make changes to your policy. This must be authorised in writing with the Third Party Nomination Form. Please note that only the policyholder can change email or postal addresses, and we can’t accept third-party email addresses.

Want to give someone access to your policy?

Authorising someone to manage your policy is a great way to share the admin—just make sure it’s done securely. If you need help or want to request the form, please feel free to contact our Customer Care team.
