If I don’t let my insurer know about changes could this affect my cover?

It’s really important to tell us at 123.ie about any changes that could affect your policy. These are called material facts. If they’re not disclosed or you provided false information, we might:

  • Cancel your policy
  • Treat the policy as null and void
  • Refuse to pay a claim

This could also make it harder to get insurance in the future, as you’ll need to disclose any cancellations or voided policies when applying elsewhere.

What counts as a material change?

A material change is anything that could affect how we assess your cover. This includes:

  • Vehicle modifications or adding features like a tow bar
  • Developing a medical condition that could impact driving
  • Changing your occupation or address

If you’re not sure whether something counts, it’s best to ask us.

What if I’m unsure whether a change is important?

If you’re not sure if something needs to be reported, contact our Customer Care team at:

Home & Motor Policies

Travel Policy

Be sure to use the email address we have on your policy.

Keeping your policy safe

If something changes, tell us. It’s the best way to make sure your cover stays valid—and it helps avoid any future headaches when renewing or switching policies. For full details about your policy, have a look at our policy documents.
