Is there a cooling-off period once I have bought my policy?
At 123.ie, we offer a 14-day cooling-off period for our Car, Home, Van, Health and Travel Insurance policies. This allows you to review your policy and decide if it suits your needs.
When does the cooling-off period begin?

Car, Home, Van and Health Insurance - The 14-day period starts from the policy's start date or the date you receive the full terms and conditions, whichever is later.

Travel insurance - The 14-day period begins from the date of purchase or when you receive your policy documents, whichever is later.
What happens if I cancel within the cooling-off period?

Car, Home, Van and Health Insurance - If you decide to cancel within the 14-day window, you'll be charged only for the days your policy was active. However, if a claim has been made during this period, no refund will be provided.

Travel insurance - If you haven’t made a claim or started your trip, you’ll get a full refund. If your journey has commenced or a claim has been filed, a refund cannot be processed.
How do I cancel my policy within the cooling-off period?
To cancel your policy:

Car, Home, Van ,and Health Insurance - Contact our Customer Care team at 01 524 6029 or email info@123.ie. You’ll need to return your Certificate of Insurance and insurance disc (for car insurance).

Travel insurance - Reach out to our Travel team at 01 241 8549 or email travel@123.ie. Cancellations must be requested in writing.
Alternatively, you can send a written cancellation request to:

Are there cancellation fees within the cooling-off period?
Car, Home, Van and Travel: For cancellations within the 14-day cooling-off period, there are no additional cancellation fees.
Health: Please note you may also be charged the full amount of the Government Levy that the provider becomes liable for in respect of your policy
