Can I change my policy to direct debit?
If you’ve paid your policy in full but want to move to monthly payments instead, we’ve made it easy to switch to direct debit.
What steps are involved in changing to direct debit?
Here’s how to get started:
- Get in touch with us.
- Have your bank account details ready.
- We’ll set up your direct debit and refund your upfront payment (excluding the deposit).
What is the deposit requirement for Car Insurance policies?
If you’re switching a Car Insurance policy, the deposit includes:
- 21.5% of your premium
- 9.5% service charge on the direct debit amount
This is the minimum deposit required—but you can choose to pay more upfront if you prefer. Just ask the team when you call.
What is the deposit requirement for Home Insurance policies?
For Home Insurance policies, the deposit includes:
- 1.5% of your premium
- 9.5% service charge on the direct debit amount
As with car policies, you can opt to pay more than the minimum deposit. Our Customer Care team can guide you through it.
Will switching to direct debit affect the total cost of my policy?
Yes. A service charge applies to direct debit plans, so your total policy cost will increase slightly. It's a good idea to factor this in before switching.
