How do I nominate a third party to deal with my policy on my behalf?

To protect your privacy, we normally discuss policy details only with the policyholder or their legally recognised spouse, civil partner, or co-habiting partner.

However, you can nominate another person (such as a family member or trusted friend) to manage or discuss your insurance policy on your behalf, provided they are aged 18 or older.

What options do I have for third-party access?

We offer two clear levels of third-party access, Limited and Full access.

Limited Access (Information Only)

  • Allows the third party to request and discuss information only.

  • Does not allow any changes to policy details.

  • Can be granted verbally by calling 01 524 6000, in writing via letter, or through our official third-party nomination form.

  • For household policies with two proposers, verbal confirmation from both is required.

  • All correspondence is sent directly to the policyholder, never to the nominated third party.

Full Access (Amendments Allowed)

  • Permits the third party to request policy amendments and manage policy details (excluding changing postal/email addresses).

  • Must be granted in writing through a completed third-party nomination form or via a detailed letter clearly stating your intentions.

  • Verbal requests are not accepted for full access.

Are there any restrictions for third-party access?

There are specific restrictions when granting third-party access to your policy. Only the policyholder can request changes to postal or email addresses, and correspondence cannot be sent directly to a third-party email address. All communications will always go directly to the policyholder’s provided contact details.
